A New Look for MyBusiness to Better Serve You
NFIB president Dan Danner
When you picked up this issue of MyBusiness, you probably noticed the cover has a new look.
As you look through the rest of the pages, you’ll see a lot more that’s new, and we’re excited to bring that content to you.
We’ve spent a lot of time over the past several months taking a hard look at the magazine and what we deliver to you. Our research shows that more than 80 percent of you consider this to be a valuable and important member benefit, and that most of you read each and every issue. For that reason, we wanted to be sure that we were bringing you the best news and information that we can to help you own, operate and grow your business.
We’ve refocused the magazine to ensure that we’re addressing the three primary benefits of being an NFIB member:
-
Advocacy at the state and federal levels, representing your interests with policymakers
-
Being part of a community of small business owners, with people who face the same challenges as you; and,
-
Practical, sound advice to help you run your business, no matter what stage your business is in.
To that end, we’ve introduced a couple of new features that you’ll want to read:
-
NFIB Scorecard, where we look at six recent policy decisions and rate them on how good or bad they are for small business.
-
ROI, which takes an in-depth look at the vast amount of data we have and why the information is important to you and your business.
-
Operational Insight, a guest column on a small business issue from a well-known business personality. The first column is from marketing guru Seth Godin, who talks about the advantages small businesses have over their better-known competitors.
We’ve kept popular columns from Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg and the Small Business Legal Center. In addition, we’ll continue to tackle the big issues around owning, operating and growing your business in three features in every edition.
At the same time, we’re more tightly integrating the magazine content with information on NFIB.com for the most up-to-date news. We’ll make sure that the magazine pages point you to locations on our Web site where you can learn more about a particular issue or topic, so you’ll always be in the know.
We think these changes will make MyBusiness magazine an even more valuable tool for small business owners like you. But the final judgment is, of course, up to you, our readers. We’d love to know what you think.
As always, thanks for being a member of NFIB. We look forward to hearing from you.
